Laura Buzbee
Director of Equine Program & Lead Therapeutic Riding Instructor
Laura was raised in East Texas and moved to Midland in 2010. As soon as she learned about MCRC, she was eager to be of help however she could! With her background in riding and training horses, volunteering with the MCRC equine programs was a natural fit. In 2012, she was offered a full time position at MCRC and began as the Assistant Barn Manager to Jim Crawford. Eventually this position morphed into Barn Manager and then - when Jim fully retired - Laura became the Director of Equine. As a PATH Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor, adapted martial arts instructor, and horse trainer, her favorite things about working at MCRC is watching the participants find their individuality and independence within those programs, as well as facilitating equine/human relationships and connecting with the MCRC horses to maintain their physical, mental and emotional health. Outside of MCRC, Laura enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and their various animals, homesteading efforts, reading, and working out.
