Pool History
MCRC began providing aquatic therapy in 1978 when our current pool was completed. Therapists quickly witnessed dramatic results with the pool. Now, 43 years later, it is our desire to steward the initial gift of our facility by reconstructing the pool to continue this resource for many years to come.
1978
The pool was completed early in the year of 1978 to serve the growing number of clients at the center. The pool was enclosed later that year with the hope for sliding glass windows to eliminate the environmental factors inhibiting therapy.
2009
The pool was closed from 2009 until 2010 due to a major shift in the foundation. In that time, a board member led a community campaign to repair the pool. Dedicated volunteers and donors came together to make the project possible.
2020
The pool was deemed inoperable in May after many attempts to save it. The foundation of the pool has failed, resulting in a large crack. This crack has caused issues with water levels, quality and temperature, which are all imperative elements for a successful therapy session.
2023
On September 18, 2023, MCRC held a Grand Opening celebration for the new F. Marie Hall Aquatic Therapy Center. Because of our gracious community, MCRC will be able to make a big SPLASH for the children of MCRC and provide aquatic therapy locally at little or no cost to for many years to come.
